MUSIC CLASSES with a difference
COMMITTED TO REVOLUTIONISING HOW MUSIC IS TAUGHT TO THE NEXT GENERATION. PAPER SCISSORS ROCK ACADEMY HAS BE PIONEERING A NEW APPROACH TO MUSIC EDUCATION SINCE 2016 OUR SESSIONS STRIVE TO MAKE MOST CONDUCIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR INSPIRING CREATIVITY AND EXCELLENCE IN MUSIC.
We understand from our personal experiences and via our existing families how difficult this time has been, keeping up our working commitment and leading our children’s education from home. Kids are notorious for sensing our struggle and making it even harder as the parent attempts to take on the teachers role too.
Stress levels rise, children already frustrated and confused by the interruption to their routine can make life for parents even harder. Tasks that take 15mins in school don’t!
We have had reports from parents that tasks such as that are being stretched out to 2hrs in the home whilst the child is also emotionally affected and is trying to adjust to life in lockdown.
As a lot of subjects can successfully be gamified and to be interactive when e-learning. It is also important to still encourage creative non-technology focused subjects such as Music, Dance, Art etc.
What We Can Do
We have spent the past 4 weeks delivering the end of our winter term via Zoom. Starting a new term with no schools and understanding the outcry from parents across the country we have decided to change how we work and adopt a new fully digital membership style of delivery. Allowing us to invite as many families from across the country as possible. So if you have a child that already receives instrumental/ Vocal tuition or is interested in learning Music or perhaps your child’s favourite class at school is Music then we can help during Lockdown.

Songmasters & Composers
Bring your instrument and let’s learn to Sing and Play together.
This class is targeted towards the learning of popular song repertoire . Allowing each household will be treated like a band learning to play and sing a different song every 3 weeks. Each household is encouraged to bring whichever instrument they have or already play and learn to play chords, bass lines, riffs and melodies. Parts are allocated and taught based on your ability level.
Each class starts with a fun and comprehensive vocal warm up. The song lyrics and melody are recapped, then parts to play along are taught, once we are confident we begin to put it all together.
The Creative project Tasks.
The final 20-30mins of our class is dedicated to show and tell of our project.
This time is dedicated to encouraging each family to compose/ create music.
Our 1st task is to write a song.
We give guidance and digital resources to assist all weekly task and give constructively encouraging feedback weekly.
YOUR COACH: DOE
Hi my name is “Doe” I’m a Brighton born and bred Vocal coach, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and Record Producer. Over the past decade I have built a portfolio career in the entertainment industry with special interest in Music. I have treaded the boards professionally in the west-end spending a total of 5years as a full time performer in hit shows. I have released solo albums, toured most of Europe and collaborated with some of the most talented names in Folk/ World Music including grammy award winners. I have even had the odd TV appearance on the BBC, created Music for touring street theatre shows and performed Shakespeare at the Globe in London.
Over the past 3 years I have dedicated a lot of time to developing my own methods of teaching Music from a universal language perspective. Moving away from traditional methods of just copy what you teacher can do, in a bid to find a more dynamic, streamed lined and creative way to develop young talent.
WHAT OUR PARENTS & KIDS SAY
